Year-End Recap: The Most In-Demand Projects

As 2020 comes to an end, we were curious to look back on the organizing projects you’ve brought our way. We tallied up the most common areas people have brought us in to tackle and summarized below. Here are your top 5 most in-demand home projects, along with our best solutions.

  • Solutions for Storage Spaces - We all have areas where we store excess household or pantry items (like all that toilet paper). It’s often alongside tools, sports-equipment, off-season decor, entertaining items, sentimental collections and more. To get these spaces under control, we often need to edit and remove what’s not actually needed, create zones for key categories, and use vertical height to maximize shelving space. Labelled storage bins are the finishing touch to give everything a place.

  • Categorizing & Containing Crafts - Arts & crafts can be a ton of fun to make, but not so fun to tidy up. We often find everything overflowing as the collection of supplies outpaces the size of the storage solutions. For art lovers, give yourself adequate cupboard or shelf space and designate containers to group key categories of supplies. Keep the go-to supplies handy for kids to start creating on a whim, but keep the messy stuff out of reach. Have a system for displaying and filing away those extra special creations.

  • Editing Entries - These areas are so key to simplifying getting in and out the door as a family. Because they hold items both large and small, they require frequent editing (seasonally and as kids grow) and fitted solutions to make the most of spaces big and small.

  • Overhauling Offices - When you’re lucky enough to have a designated home office, it’s not uncommon for it to also turn into a personal storage space. We like to take stock of what’s in there, helping you edit, and make what you use frequently more accessible. Display sentimental items that make you happy, group those that hold special memories in keepsake boxes, and separate any paperwork or projects you want to save for another day, into manageable boxes you can tackle one by one in smaller chunks of time. Give yourself a schedule so you know you will make it happen, or get it done while we’re there working on the rest of the space!

  • Tackling Toys - No surprise here, kids love playing and their toys find their way onto every floor of the house, often making sets useless and the mess too overwhelming to know where to start. We’ll collect all the toys, regrouping sets, and making it easy for you to do a quick edit based on kids’ changing interests and needs. We love hearing how this toy refresh makes your kids more appreciative of what they have and makes cleaning up easier for them too!
